Hey there, I'm Katie Molumby, aka Purposeful Katie – a holistic health and mindset coach certified with the Institute of Integrated Nutrition (IIN). My mission is to empower individuals to discover their purpose while taking ownership of their health and overall wellness. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I share my life with my amazing husband Howard and our beloved dog Meara.
Known for my compassionate nature, fun-loving spirit, and extensive knowledge in the field, I've been described by friends, family, colleagues, and countless clients as someone who genuinely cares about the greater good and betterment of all. Astrologically speaking, as a Capricorn Sun and Rising with a Sagittarius Moon influence, I bring grounded nurturing energy alongside an optimistic and adventurous streak.
Kindness and optimism are two attributes that define me best. As a giver by nature and Clairsentient Empath, I find joy in serving others but also recognize the importance of self-care through alone time. While wearing my heart on my sleeve is second nature to me, privacy holds great value in my life.
Beyond coaching others towards healthier lives mentally and physically, the interests that ignite passion within me include: dance, holistic health & wellness, homemade health, cleaning and beauty products, anything in nature, boating, music spanning from classical to rock, arts & crafts, various physical activities, astrology, tarot readings, gardening, and learning new skills and perspectives.
My journey began in social services, where I dedicated myself to improving lives by connecting individuals to housing resources while providing support for mental health needs. It was fulfilling, but helping others through these channels for over a decade made me realize that it wasn't where I saw myself long-term. That's when fate led me to embrace my true calling as a health & mindset coach.
With an educational background in Sociology (major) and Psychology (minor), combined with formal training from IIN focusing on holistic approaches to well-being, I've honed my skills to guide individuals towards purpose, balance, health, and happiness in all aspects of their lives. It's an incredible gift to witness people transform into their healthiest and happiest selves – and trust me, it's a fun journey, too!

My Personal Health History
I grew up on a standard American diet, filled with excessive amounts of fast food, meat and potatoes, soda pop, and junk food. While I always had a love for fruits and vegetables, they never played a primary role in my childhood diet. Despite being active in multiple sports and extracurricular activities while I was in school, convenience and taste often took priority over a balanced and nutrient-rich diet.
During my freshman year of college, I experienced alarming stomach issues that left me feeling helpless. Sharp pains in my lower abdomen, constant discomfort in my stomach, bloody stool, and irregularity became the norm.
Countless visits to doctors only resulted in dismissals and prescriptions for laxatives without any consideration for my diet or overall health. It was clear that these temporary solutions were not going to address the root cause of my problems.
Feeling unheard within the healthcare system led me to lose hope until I sought help from a specialist at the University of Minnesota nearly a year later. The specialist diagnosed me with intussusception – a serious condition where part of the intestine slides into an adjacent part. After undergoing surgery and spending time recovering in the hospital with a six-inch scar across my abdomen, I finally began healing.
This health crisis served as the catalyst that ignited my journey towards radical responsibility for both mental and physical health. Practices such as acupuncture, adopting a plant-based diet, meditation, mindset work, and breathwork empowered me to make drastic changes to improve my overall well-being.
Through this transformative experience came clarity about my purpose as a health coach – helping others apply purpose to their own health journeys. By infusing purpose into our wellness goals, we gain direction, consistency, and motivation towards achieving optimal well-being.
We can streamline our self-care routines by working smarter rather than harder. My programs are specifically designed for individuals who struggle with consistency and motivation when it comes to their health and wellness choices.

- Experience in Mental Health and CADI Case Manager, managing services for individuals on state disability

- Approximately 5,000 hours providing mental health support and assessment
